That was a great post and I just love Chloe. It was packed full of great ideas on how to safely have your dog travel with you.

I liked the ideas of the various solutions for both your own car and rental cars. These are great options to ensure every dog should be able to travel safely and with no worries about injury. Thanks again

Oh, thank you, Clare and Mary (and Edie) -- I'm glad it's helpful. Chloe is a total Disney dog -- drawn by skilled artists to activate all your cute sensors -- and she is, in fact, a love muffin (or sponge! Sponge works too!). We met someone at a neighborhood party who doesn't like the look of Cavaliers (imagine her horror when she realized we had one), and we stared at her in dumb bewilderment.

That "if I ever have another dog" stopped me cold for a few hours. So I think I'll just ignore it and say, yes, Mary-Alice did an excellent job and Chloe, whom I've had the pleasure of meeting, is not only adorable in person but a love sponge.

Mary-Alice's review of options for small dogs is OUTSTANDING. Thank you both for this. If I ever have another dog, I will follow her advice (have archived it for that purpose), and in the meantime, allow me to say that the photo of Chloe's Bliss is beyond adorable!

Hi, Karen! Thanks so much for your kind words! Looking back through this post, I think I could have been a little clearer. I talk about two different straps.

The first is the one that Snoozer sells with its car seat. They are separate items (Snoozer seat and Snoozer strap), but you pass your car's seatbelt through the strap at the same time that you're securing the car seat to your car. (This will be clearer once you have the two items in your hand and are putting them in your car.)

The second strap I talk about is the PetBuckle tether, which we use when we're someplace where we can't use the Snoozer car seat. It attaches Chloe directly to the car via the car's LATCH system.

I'd use the PetBuckle tether with Chloe's Snoozer instead of the provided Snoozer strap, except that it's really too short to reach from seat level up and over the edge of the Snoozer bed, and still give her a little room to move around (the Snoozer strap passes through the seatbelt at the height of the Snoozer bed, not down at seat level).

This information comes to me at the perfect time. I'm currently looking for car safety protection for Cooper as I realize what I have is not enough. I really like the http://www.snoozerpetproducts.com/snoozer-pet-products-snoozer-lookout-pet-car-seat-all-other-fabrics-p-170.html . I'm thinking my 9 pounder would be ok with a small. What do you think?

I'm a little confused. You say the Snoozer itself is strapped to the car with the seatbelt, but then it looks as though you bought some kind of seatbelt attachment??

I appreciate this post. You definitely steered me in the right direction with the air travel information so i'm going to heed this information too!
