First off, it’s been lovely to have so much interspecies interaction. I don’t usually get many cat owners coming by and they were surprisingly nice.

Just kidding. Some of my best friends are cat people.

But a cat didn’t win. Random.org decided that the winner of the Mommy Bus contest was #24, Phyllis, who wanted the carrier for a Biewer named Gio. I have to admit I’d never heard of Biewers before, but now I know they’re related to Yorkshire terriers.  And awfully darned cute. I’m very glad Gio will be out of your lap from now on, Phyllis, and safe in the back seat.

So congratulations! I hope you’ll send a picture of Gio in her Mommy Bus.  And tell us where the name Gio comes from and tell us whether we’re talking about a he or a she.

  1. Congrats to Phyllis – she’s going to love the Mommy Bus, and keeping her dogs safely buckled up:) Now she needs Through a Dog’s Ears CD to play while driving:))

    1. I included the link to it — very adorable breed. And I now have a picture of Gio, who is a he, but I think I’ll wait to post the promised picture that will be taken of him in the carrier.

      1. Gio’s full name is Giovanni. That was his name when we got him and I did not want to change it. It seems that the breeders name their litters, after the letters of the alphabet. So, he was from the breeder’s “G” litter. His full name is: Imperiales D’Morffiz Gentle Lovin Giovanni. I had never heard of Biewers until this past summer. I have always had yorkies. My 16 y/o yorkie passed this summer. I was devastated, of course. One of the ladies on the YorkieTalk blogs and I started communicating and she is the one who was responsible for telling me about the Biewers. What a wonderful breed. They are the sweetest pups that I have ever encountered. They are super affectionate and are wonderful with the grandchildren.
And I am so thrilled to have won the Mommy Bus!!! I am just so excited and happy.
P.S. The breed is pronounced Bee Va (short a)

        1. Thanks for this, Phyllis. That’s quite a monicker little Gio has! I appreciate the pronunciation information, too.

We’ll all look forward to the picture of Gio in the Mommy Bus. Congratulations again!

  2. Wow, I never heard of that breed before either but, beautiful and definitely looks like he will be made for this carrier. Congratulations to Phyllis!
