Five minutes of happy from the SPCA of Wake County. As their website warns, extreme cuteness ahead. Another warning: You might be singing ABBA songs the rest of the day.

Question for Karen at Doggie Stylish. “Chance” the dog looks an awful lot like a Viszla to me. To you too?

In case you’re wondering: I lost count of the series number; several are out of sequence. It’ll just be dates from now on.

  1. I first saw this through Facebook; it is an incredibly well done one shot ala Alfred Hitchcock – with a happy ending! Simply wonderful, taking a lot of care in being set up.

    1. Ah, a cinema buff. I hadn’t even noticed how it was shot, just the cute animals and the music — but yes, thank heavens this didn’t have a Hitchcock ending!

  2. Great video, Edie. Thanks for sharing it. And yes, I was humming “Take a Chance on Me” for hours after the first time I saw the video…LOL

  3. Best.Adoption.Video.Ever. It made me go right over to their site and donate $$ I loved this video because it was fun!! I wonder how many takes it took to shoot? It was a pretty complicated video.

To answer your question about little Chance. I think that he is a Chocolate Lab crossed with a Vizsla. He has the white patch on his chest which a lot of Vizslas have. Such a laid back puppy, too, with all that racket going on πŸ˜€

    1. Wow — that is one effective video! You’re the second person who has said they donated on the basis of seeing the video on this site.
Thanks for the breed analysis! The nose didn’t look quite right, but Chance also had the slightly worried expression that Vizsla’s seem to have — even the demonic Dexter πŸ˜‰

  4. I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one thinking nerdy thoughts like “wow, they did that all in one shot”. I love this series – I keep sharing these with my rescue pals to keep us on the happy track (though we’re an upbeat crew anyway).

    1. I can’t tell you how much it means to me to hear you say you share the series with your rescue pals and that the posts keep you on the happy track. Thank you for letting me know.

  5. What an amazing shelter they have there! Is this the standard for the US? I can’t believe how huge it is! That’s quite impressive in and of itself. I am stunned.

    1. I wish it was standard; the ones I’m familiar with are much smaller! But it’s nice to know that shelters like this are out there.
