I'm a party animal!

When I saw that it was time for Dogtime’s second annual pet blogger awards, I was planning to pretend that I wasn’t the slightest bit interested. The competition is so daunting that I couldn’t imagine being  chosen “best” in any category.

But then I saw there was a new category this year, funniest blog or blogger. I immediately thought of Frankie. As his guardian and constant companion, I’m aware that he is a bit shy about putting himself forward — especially if there are other dogs around — so I will attest to the fact that he’s a very amusing pup.

There are many posts that highlight his sense of humor, which, he is the first to admit, can veer towards funny peculiar as opposed to funny ha ha. But I feel he is particularly well represented by his film career, where he is able to demonstrate imagination as well as wit:

If you agree that Frankie is deserving of a Pettie, here’s the site to visit to nominate him in the Funniest Blog or Blogger category. His email address is writestf at mac.com. It’s not clear when the nomination period ends but I do know that, in order to be in the final running, the more nominations he gets the better.

Frankie wants you to know that his chosen charity to benefit is the Humane Society of Southern Arizona.

And I can assure you that, if he is nominated, I will not run a smear campaign on his behalf. In the pet world, that tends to involve poop.

  1. I was already going to nominate Will My Dog Hate Me but hadn’t gotten to it yet. When I saw your post, I decided there’s no time like the present. After all, what else could I do at 3:00 AM? Sleep?

BTW, sometimes I come over to watch Frankie in his video just to lift my day. It’s cute enough that I overlook my lifetime hatred of dogs in clothing.

I mean, come on! Who could resist Frankie in foul weather gear, bunny ears, and those cute little foil antennae?! I’m not stonehearted!

Good luck. And I’m so thankful you’re eschewing smear tactics.

Just keep Frankie off twitter. I’d rather not see him competing with that congressional “hot dog” who keeps New York in the news lately.

    1. What a nice thing to say about the video; I never knew anyone was watching it anymore because it kind of dropped further and further down on my page. And — all evidence on this page to the contrary notwithstanding — Frankie rarely wears clothing; it’s only when he has a job to do.

We appreciate your vote. I’ll try to keep Frankie off Twitter although I have some awfully compromising pictures that could get him widespread media attention.

    1. Thanks, Juliette! I’m going to have to check out those Harness Lined Doggie T-Shirts — might be perfect for Frankie in his future sky diving career!

    1. Thanks, Kim! It was so much fun — well, for me and the filmmakers, if not for Frankie — to make the video.

  2. I’ll be honest, I didn’t even know there was a video of Frankie posted on your blog. Shows how observant I am. This is the first time I have seen him in action. He looks so natural in that beret! Very cultured!

Lots of luck on the awards! When I think of some of the best dog blogs, yours is always right up there on my list.

    1. Hey Kristine, it’s the job of the blogger to make sure that things catch the reader’s eye. I have failed Frankie. I’m glad to have the chance to try to make it up to him. Thank you for helping!

  3. OMD! We saw your blog on the hop and wandered over for a visit and we are still laughing at the video. Frankie, your a ball of furry cuteness!

We are two Burmese and a silly Wirehaired Fox terrier!

    We are off to vote!

    1. Why thank you C & C; Frankie thanks you too! What’s the name of the third pup in your household?
