What would bloggers do without infographics? Here’s a fun one created by Pet365. I’m not sure about the “Fastest car window opened by a dog” record — after all, who knows how many other dogs simply neglected to register their accomplishments? — but I’m proud to note that Giant George, the world’s tallest dog, lives here in Tucson.

Update: I’m sorry to report that Pusuke, the world’s oldest dog, passed away peacefully on December 6.

The dog’s owner, Yumiko Shinohara, said the male cross-breed died at Sakura in the Tochigi prefecture, north of Tokyo, according to the Kyodo news agency.

Pusuke was reportedly eating well and staying active until Monday, when he lost his appetite and had difficulty breathing.  Pusuke died peacefully, minutes after his owner returned home from a walk.

“I think (Pusuke) waited for me to come home,” she said, according to Kyodo.

R.I.P. Pusuke. You had a very good life and very good death.

  1. Wow some one paid $945,000 for a dog? I seriously think that some people just have too much money – Can you imagine how much it would cost to insure it? I’d hate to be the vet who had to work on him.

  2. Edie – thanks so much for posting this! We had great fun putting the graphic together (although they’re really hard work) so it’s nice to see that people like them.

Mark – $945k… you’re right! It’s a stunning dog, very rare, and coveted by the Chinese… but still. I’d buy a yacht instead 😉

  3. 24 puppies? 24? Yikes… I just cannot imagine how that poor mama felt. There are no words…

While I am proud the window-rolling dog is Canadian, I am unsurprised it is held by a Border Collie. Thankfully my dog has yet to figure out our electric windows, she has jumped through quite enough as it is!

Thanks for sharing this fun graphic! It gave me something to look at during my mental health break. 😉
